Innovating to Mitigate Climate Change’s Women’s Health Impact
According to an analysis of 130 peer-reviewed studies conducted by the Global Gender and Climate Alliance, women and girls are significantly more vulnerable to negative health impacts due to climate change compared to men and boys. For example, women and girls are at a higher risk of death during heatwaves in countries like France, China, and India and tropical cyclones in Bangladesh and the Philippines.
Policymakers, non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs and others are working to drive women’s health innovation to mitigate the gender impacts of climate change.
